How many days after intercourse can a urine pregnancy test be done to get accurate results?

I am 6 months pregnant and my urine microscopic examination shows pus cells 5 to 7 and epithelial cells 7 to 10. My doctor has suggested taking Nitrofurantoin SR 100 twice daily for 7 days. My query is whether it is safe to take during pregnancy and should I take it or not.
