PPBS stands for post prandial blood sugar test. This test is done to measure the level of blood glucose exactly two hours post eating a meal.
In a healthy person, insulin starts working, and the blood sugar level returns to the pre-meal level 2 hours after eating

For most healthy people, normal blood glucose levels are as follows: When fasting: Between 4.0 and 5.4 mmol/L (72 to 99 mg/dL). 2 hours after eating: Up to 7.8 mmol/L (140 mg/dL)
One gram of sugar will result in the spike of 5mg/dl blood glucose levels. Hence, diabetics are advised to take less or no sugar at all.
This is because the body digests the last meal (post dinner) and releases glucose in the blood stream which is detected in the fasting test.
