Question
Hello Doctor, I am a thyroid patient (hypothyroidism) and take my medication regularly. However, I have been experiencing severe hyperpigmentation, and it seems to be worsening day by day. Could you please advise on the possible causes and what can be done to manage it?

Hypothyroidism can cause skin darkening or pigmentation, especially on the face, neck, and underarms. Even with medication, skin changes may take time to improve. Ensure your thyroid dose is keeping TSH in normal range. Use sunscreen daily and mild skincare products. A dermatology consultation can help with creams or peels. Repeat thyroid test to check levels.
