Hello Doctor, I recently had a TPHA test, and the results show a reactive obtained value but non reactive units. I am confused and would like to know whether this means the test is positive or negative, and what the final interpretation of the report would be.

A TPHA test Reactive means the test is positive, indicating past or present infection with syphilis. TPHA remains positive for life, even after treatment. To confirm if it is an active infection, you will need a VDRL test to check the activity level. Please consult your doctor for further evaluation and treatment if required.
