Hi Doctor, I am writing on behalf of my wife. We are trying to conceive. Her last period started on 13th August, and her next period is due on 13th Sept. We went ahead and did an hCG blood test, and the result came back as 92. We also tried a urine pregnancy test, which showed a faint positive line. Does this mean she is pregnant? Can pregnancy be confirmed even before the missed period? We are a bit confused and not sure if we should celebrate yet. Please guide us.

A Beta HCG value of 92 could suggest early pregnancy, but this should be confirmed by repeating the test after 48 hours to observe if the levels are rising appropriately. A faint line on the urine test might appear early but is not always conclusive. Its best to consult a doctor who can guide you on the right timeline for confirmation and further care.

My last period was on 22nd July, and my pregnancy test is positive. An ultrasound shows a small gestational sac, but no cardiac activity is detected yet. How long should we wait for cardiac activity to appear, or could this indicate another issue? Please advise.

My last menstrual period was on April 24. We had unprotected intercourse on April 28, and I took an emergency contraceptive (ipill) on April 29. My period has still not arrived. I have taken five home pregnancy tests, all of which were negative. I consulted a doctor, who prescribed Meperate, and I have been taking it for the past three days, but my period has not started yet. I am feeling worried.
