Hi Doctor, I have irregular periods, so it is difficult to calculate my menstrual dates. I had intercourse on 21st, and my last menstrual period was on 19th. When should I take a pregnancy urine test to get an accurate result?

If your periods are irregular, it can be hard to calculate the exact date to test. Since you had intercourse on 21st, you can take a urine pregnancy test around 14 to 21 days after that date to get an accurate result. Since your last period was on 19th, and if your period has not yet come, it is appropriate to take a test now. If the test is negative and your period does not start within a week, repeat the test or consult your doctor for further guidance. As serum Beta HCG test can help confirm the diagnosis.

How many days after intercourse can a urine pregnancy test be done to get accurate results?
Answered by Apollo Doctors
My periods are 4 days late, and I have cloudy discharge. I did a pregnancy test yesterday, which was negative. My last intercourse was on 31st August, after which I got my period. Last month has been very stressful, with on and off fever, cough, extreme emotional stress, and sleepless nights due to personal issues. Could these factors be the reason for my delayed period?
