Question
Hi doctor, tomorrow my hysterectomy is scheduled and in the pre operative blood test report thyroid has been detected. The doctor advised me to take Thyroxin 50 before coming to the hospital tomorrow. I also take Olmighty 20 mcg daily for hypertension. Could you please suggest if it is a normal procedure to take the thyroid medicine? I am too stressed about it. Any help would be appreciable. Thank you.

It is normal to start Thyroxine before surgery if thyroid levels are abnormal. It helps stabilize metabolism during and after surgery. Continue Olmighty as well. Inform surgical team about both medicines.
