Hi, I was diagnosed with malaria 14 days ago and 2 days before, malaria was not detected in my blood report. I was discharged from the hospital. I am 68 years old. But even after discharge, I am still getting fever of 101 to 102 degrees C. Also, fever is observed only on the head, whereas the body is cold. Please suggest. Your opinion would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Post malaria fever persisting after parasite clearance may be due to post viral syndrome or secondary infection. Since its localized to the head with chills, get a CBC, ESR, Malaria antigen repeat, and possibly Dengue/CRP test. Also consider brain imaging (CT/MRI) if neuro symptoms.
