Hi, I was diagnosed with malaria 14 days ago and 2 days before, malaria was not detected in my blood report. I was discharged from the hospital. I am 68 years old. But even after discharge, I am still getting fever of 101 to 102 degrees C. Also, fever is observed only on the head, whereas the body is cold. Please suggest. Your opinion would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Post malaria fever persisting after parasite clearance may be due to post viral syndrome or secondary infection. Since its localized to the head with chills, get a CBC, ESR, Malaria antigen repeat, and possibly Dengue/CRP test. Also consider brain imaging (CT/MRI) if neuro symptoms.

Take a COMPLETE BLOOD COUNT (CBC) Test or Take a MALARIAL ANTIGEN (VIVAX AND FALCIPARUM) Test

We did a blood test, and the report shows, platelets is 5.20 lacs, haemoglobin is 10.8, Serum SGOT is 99.33, Serum SGPT is 57.40, and D Dimer Quantification is 2544.47. What other tests should be done? Is this condition dangerous as the D Dimer is very high along with elevated platelets, SGOT, and SGPT? Last month, his platelets were 2.72 lacs.

Does the below test report indicate any potential problems during pregnancy? My haemoglobin and RBC count are lower than normal, while the WBC count is higher than the normal range. Additionally, the urine test shows a trace amount of sugar. I would like to know if these values being outside the normal range could cause any complications during pregnancy.
