I am a 53 year old woman suffering from allergic rhinitis. I would like to know the cost of a skin prick test for both airborne and food allergens. Additionally, if I am found to be allergic to something like house dust mites, what would be the cost of allergy vaccination (immunotherapy)? For your reference, my recent test results are: TLC: 9100/cumm, Neutrophils: 50percent, Lymphocytes: 40percent, Eosinophils: 6percent, Monocytes: 4percent, Basophils: 0percent, Total IgE: 231.2 IU/ml, hsCRP: 4.6 mg/L, Vitamin D: 7.65 ng/ml.

Your reports show elevated IgE, eosinophils, and low Vitamin D, which can worsen allergy symptoms. Skin prick test for airborne and food allergens helps identify specific triggers. Cost may vary by city/lab. Usually 2,500 to 5,000 rupees for full panel. If allergic to dust mites, allergy immunotherapy (AIT) may be suggested, approx 1,500 to 3,000 rupees per injection, often monthly.
Dr. Shaik Suggests...
Take a IgE Test Test or Take a Vitamin D Test Test

View allDear Doctor, I have severe sneezing and wheezing and my eyes and ears are also itching and having irritation. Sneezing for more than 100 times in a day, minimum 10 to 20 each time I sneeze, is making my life miserable. I am also struggling with sleepless nights, which is increasing my symptoms even higher. How can I tackle this issue? I found my eosinophils count is a little higher than expected. I am yet to receive the complete blood report. But this problem has been consistent for more than 3 years. Please suggest a way to get out of this miserable living. When I sneeze, urine leaks. In the morning, as soon as I wake up, I sneeze like hell and my stools also leak due to severe and unstoppable sneezing. I hope you are able to see the life I am living. I do not know which treatment or which specialist is suitable to treat my problem. Please help and direct me to the correct treatment. Thank you, Durgalakshmi.

Hello, I had a potential HIV exposure 85 days ago. Since around 75 days after exposure, I have been experiencing itching and irritation on my hands and feet. I took an HIV DUO test after 80 days, and it came back non reactive with a value of 0.82. I am very anxious because of the persistent itching. Can you please explain why my blood test is negative even though I am experiencing these symptoms?

I am the mother of a 10 year old girl. She has developed red patches on her skin all over the body for the last 4 days. The doctor has advised a patch skin test. Could you please explain what this test is, what it indicates, and how long it usually takes?
