I am 53 years old and have been experiencing fever (99 to 104F) for the past week. My recent blood report shows: WBC: 171,770 cells/cmm Hemoglobin: 9.1 g/dL RBC: 2.60 million/cmm Blasts: 60% I am also experiencing gum swelling and bleeding. Please advise what could be the reason for the increased WBC count, and which specialist should I consult for further evaluation.

This is serious and may suggest leukemia. Immediate consult with hematologist or oncologist is required.
