I am on medication with Thyronorm 88 mg, and my recent blood report shows TSH level 14.02. Should I change my dose, and if yes, should I reduce or increase it?

A TSH of 14.02 is high, indicating underactive thyroid despite current medication. Do not change the dose yourself. You may need an increased dose, but consult your endocrinologist first.

View allMy recent blood report shows that my TSH level is 12.04. I am a female, currently weighing 83 kg with a height of 6 feet 7 inches. My doctor has prescribed me 50 mcg of Thyronorm. However, a family member who is also a physician suggested that because my TSH level is quite high, I could take 125 mcg instead. I am confused about the correct dosage and would appreciate your guidance based on the report. Thank you.

Hi, I did a thyroid test one month back and my TSH was 27.5. The doctor suggested taking 100 mcg tablet and repeating the TSH test after one month. I went for a retest after one month, and now my TSH is 0.6, which is normal. The doctor gave me 87.5 mcg tablet to continue for the next month. She told me that I can plan for a baby now. Should I continue the tablet even though my TSH is normal, and is it safe to plan for a baby now or should I wait for some more time?
