I developed an infection after having unprotected sex with my girlfriend. I started experiencing a burning sensation while urinating and noticed yellow discharge from my penis. I got my discharge tested at a pathology lab, and the report states No gonococci seen, few gram negative cocco bacilli seen, and a large number of pus cells seen. Could you please explain what this means.

This suggests a likely bacterial infection (possibly non gonococcal urethritis). A course of appropriate antibiotics may be needed. It is advisable to consult a doctor for prescription and partner treatment.

Dr. Yusuf Suggests...

Take a URINE ROUTINE + CULTURE SENSITIVITY Test or Take a SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED INFECTION (STI) URETHRITIS PROFILE Test

Hello. I am 28 years old. My urine test report shows PUS cells 6 to 8 per hpf, RBC 3 to 4 per hpf, plenty of epithelial cells, occasional bacteria, trace blood, and specific gravity 1.010. My doctor told me I have a UTI and prescribed URISPAS, ZANOCIN 200, and ALKASOL liquid. Please suggest the procedure to treat my condition and let me know if there is any risk factor if I try to conceive?

Hello Doctor, my wife has been experiencing itching in the clitoral area for the past 15 days, which is sometimes difficult for her to resist. She also feels pain in that area. We consulted a doctor, who suggested a urine test and prescribed medication. I have attached both the lab report and the prescription. Please advise, as the symptoms have not yet resolved. Additionally, after sexual activity, she experiences itching or irritation in the same area.

It is not severe and does not interfere with my daily routine, but I do feel the urge to pass urine more often than usual. My urine test came back normal Ultrasound showed mild bladder wall thickening (5mm) I have also attached my uroflowmetry report for your review My average daily water intake is around 1 to 2 liters Could you please review the attached reports and advise if there is anything to be concerned about or if any further evaluation or treatment is needed?
