I had a postprandial blood sugar (PPBS) test 2 hours after a meal, and the result was 250. Can you explain why this level is high? Also, can I take fish oil (Omega 3) for cholesterol management?

A PPBS of 250 is high, indicating high post meal blood sugar, possibly diabetes or poor sugar control. It can increase due to high carb meals, low activity, or insulin resistance. Focus on low carb, high fiber meals and regular exercise. For cholesterol, Omega 3 fish oil can help, but check with your doctor as it does not lower blood sugar. Do Fasting Blood Sugar, HbA1c, and Lipid Profile for a full assessment.
Dr. Siri Suggests...
Take a FBS (Fasting Blood Sugar )Test Test or Take a Lipid Profile Test Test

Which blood tests diagnose diabetes?

My mother has been experiencing vision problems for the past 8 to 10 days. After a checkup and some tests, the doctor said she has a retina problem with blood clotting and swelling behind the retina in her left eye. What should be done next for proper treatment?
