I have been suffering from jaundice for the past 7 weeks. Initially, my bilirubin was 10?mg/dL. After 4 weeks, it decreased to 2.08?mg/dL, but now it has increased again to 2.3?mg/dL. My SGOT and SGPT levels have also risen. Could you please advise how to bring my bilirubin, SGOT, and SGPT back to normal?

The rise in bilirubin (to 2.3) and liver enzymes after initial improvement suggests your liver may still be inflamed. This can happen due to infection, food slip ups, or medicines. You must continue a strict bland diet (no oil, fried food, alcohol, or heavy meds) and get a repeat liver function test, hepatitis panel, and ultrasound done. Early action can prevent long term liver damage.

Dr. Vasanthasree Suggests...

Take a LFT (Liver Function) Test Test or Take a ACUTE HEPATITIS VIRUS EVALUATION I (HCV TOTAL ANTIBODIES, HEV IgM , HBsAg, HAV IgM , HBc IgM ) Test
