I have booked an appointment on Saturday. I have TSH of 12 and T3 and T4 are normal but my report is two months old. Should I get my thyroid levels checked before consulting the doctor?

Yes, it is advisable to repeat thyroid tests like TSH, T3, T4 before the appointment since hormone levels may have changed in 2 months. This helps your doctor assess your current condition more accurately.

View allHello doctor. I have hypothyroidism for the last 4 years. Currently, I am on Thyronorm 50. My thyroid profile is normal, and TSH is 2.1. Since June, I have been feeling occasional ectopic beats. I get a funny sensation in my chest followed by a hard beat, which then goes away. Is this due to my thyroid condition? This causes anxiety, which seems to trigger even more ectopic beats. Please help.

My hypothyroidism has been detected since last 6 years and I have been taking 75 mcg fixed dose of Thyronorm tablet with regular blood tests and check ups. Thankfully I have been able to maintain my TSH level in normal range for many years. But yesterday I got my report and my TSH level is 6.26 uIU per ml. I have been taking regular medicines. Is there anything to worry? What can I do to prevent TSH from increasing?

My recent blood report shows that my TSH level is 12.04. I am a female, currently weighing 83 kg with a height of 6 feet 7 inches. My doctor has prescribed me 50 mcg of Thyronorm. However, a family member who is also a physician suggested that because my TSH level is quite high, I could take 125 mcg instead. I am confused about the correct dosage and would appreciate your guidance based on the report. Thank you.
