I have had two miscarriages in a row and went through several tests afterward. In my recent report, my TSH level came back as 5.5. We are planning to try for pregnancy again, as it has been 6 months since my last miscarriage. Should I start taking thyroid medication to be on the safer side since my TSH is slightly higher than normal? Does a TSH of 5.5 affect ovulation and fertility? If I start the medicine, will it be unnecessary, or is it okay to take a low dose thyroid medicine?

A TSH of 5.5 is slightly high and may affect ovulation and fertility. For women planning pregnancy, TSH should ideally be below 2.5 for better outcomes. Starting low dose thyroid medication (Thyronorm 25 to 50 mcg) can help regulate levels and support conception and pregnancy. It is not unnecessary, many women need mild treatment to optimise thyroid levels before conception. You can book a Thyroid Profile (TSH, T3, T4) in 6 weeks after starting medication to monitor levels and adjust the dose if needed.

My name is Jagadeesh, and I am a mariner. My height is 179 cm, and my current weight is 90 kg, which I believe is overweight for my height. I am actively trying to lose weight through regular morning walking and light jogging. To support my weight loss efforts, I recently purchased a supplement called Garcinia Cambogia. I would like your expert advice on whether it is safe and effective to take this supplement twice daily, 30 minutes before breakfast and dinner, as mentioned on the label. My goal is to lose at least 5 kg in 30 days. I would appreciate your guidance
