Question

I have irregular periods, and my blood report shows that my prolactin level is quite high. My gynecologist has prescribed tablets to help regulate my periods, but I am concerned about the elevated prolactin. Should this be treated separately, and what could be the reason for the high prolactin level?

High prolactin can disrupt ovulation even if periods are regularized. Common causes include stress, medications, or pituitary issues. Get a repeat serum prolactin and a Thyroid Profile (TSH, Free T4) to rule out thyroid or pituitary problems. Your gynecologist may consider MRI if levels stay elevated.

Take a PROLACTIN Test or Take a THYROID PROFILE TOTAL (T3, T4, TSH) Test
