Is it normal for my RBC to go up when my Mcv and Mch are low?

My baby is 1.6 years old. Last week, he had fever, cold, and cough. Now, the fever has subsided and he only coughs occasionally, but I have noticed that he is more cranky than usual and sleeps a lot.
