I recently had a Typhidot IgM test, which came back weak positive two days ago. My father arranged for a railway doctor in my hometown, who, after reviewing my report, prescribed Azithromycin 1 gm in the morning and Levofloxacin 750 mg at night. Today is my second day of medication and the sixth day of typhoid symptoms. My fever goes down after taking the medicines, but a mild fever (98.8 to 99.1F) returns after 8 to 9 hours. I am very nervous because of the many negative stories about typhoid online, and I am alone in Delhi. I am concerned whether this dose is appropriate or too high, and whether this treatment is safe and effective.

Dosage is high but acceptable in moderate typhoid. Weak positive suggests early infection. Persistent low grade fever is common. Continue meds as advised, hydrate well, avoid spicy food. If fever persists greater than 7 days, repeat CBC and Widal.
Dr. Siri Suggests...
Take a CBC Test (Complete Blood Count) Test or Take a Widal Test Test

View allMy Widal test report from two weeks ago shows S. Typhi O at 1:160 and S. Typhi H at 1:320. I am a 34 year old male and would like to know if this indicates typhoid. If yes, please suggest the appropriate diet and medications. Additionally, a few bacteria were found in my urine, and some white fat was observed in the blood sample during the test.

I have a Widal test report. TO is 1:160 positive, TH is negative, AH is negative, and BH is negative. I took Ciprobid 500 mg tablet twice a day for 10 days. The doctor asked me to stop the tablets for seven days and get the report again, saying it may become negative. Is this possible? I need to submit a negative report for my foreign employment as a hotelier. My physician said it is impossible and that TO can remain the same without any rise for a long time.

I have attached my Widal test report. The test was done on the sixth day of the fever, which was around 103 degrees F. Please tell me whether it is typhoid or not, as I have received two different opinions from two doctors. I am very confused.
