I recently received my blood test results, and I noticed that my eosinophil count is 8, whereas the normal reference range is 0 to 6. What could be the reason?

Mild eosinophilia (value 8) can be due to allergy, parasitic infections, or skin/autoimmune conditions. If you are asymptomatic, monitor. If symptoms present, consult doctor.

View allDear doctor, recently I fell sick and had fever and body pain. In fact, all my family members fell sick. My mother was diagnosed as dengue and typhoid positive. My daughters completely recovered. Their blood test results were negative for dengue, malaria, and typhoid. I was the last one to get sick. My test results for typhoid and malaria turned negative. On 02 Dec, Dengue IgM was negative (1.39 units) and IgG was equivocal (20.06 units) with platelets 1.40 lakhs/cmm. On 04 Dec, I again took a retest without my doctor knowledge. The results this time were: Dengue IgM 3.20 units (negative), IgG 52.46 units (positive), platelets 1.38 lakhs/cmm. Is there anything to be worried about, doctor? I would be glad if someone can explain why the IgG values have doubled? Thanks.
