I recently took a vitamin D3 test and my results came insufficient. I want to know the proper dosage for increasing it above 40 ng/ml?
Answered by 1 Apollo Doctors
Vitamin D insufficiency is common and can be corrected with supplements. Typical treatment includes Vitamin D3 60,000 IU once weekly for 6 to 8 weeks, then once monthly for maintenance. Take the tablet with a meal containing healthy fats for better absorption. Regular sunlight exposure for 15 to 20 minutes daily helps maintain levels. After completing your course, repeat Vitamin D test to ensure it has reached above 40 ng/ml.
