I suddenly developed pain in my lower back, buttocks, pelvic area, and thigh joint. I consulted a physician, who prescribed medications for pain and suggested physiotherapy with IFT, which I did for 7 days. The pain gradually decreased and is now localized to one spot in the lower back. I am currently doing back supporting exercises. However, I was recently found to have high blood sugar, with HbA1c of 11.1. Could this high blood sugar be related to my back pain, or will it improve on its own? What special care should I take to manage this condition? Please advise.

Sudden lower back and pelvic pain can have many causes but is not directly due to high blood sugar. An HbA1c of 11.1 indicates uncontrolled diabetes that needs urgent attention to prevent complications. Back pain may take time to improve with physiotherapy and exercises. Start diabetes management immediately with diet, exercise, and medication as advised by your doctor. Monitor blood sugar regularly and repeat HbA1c after 3 months to track improvement
Dr. Kamran Suggests...
Take a HbA1c Test (Hemoglobin A1c) Test or Take a RBS (Random Blood Sugar) Test Test

View allGlucose in my urine test shows present + + + +. What does this mean? I am diabetic for 6 years. The rest of my urine test report is normal. My blood sugar level after breakfast is 248, checked at home. Does this indicate early kidney disease? Please reply.

My question is about whether labs have different reference values because of the reagents used in processing. My lab report shows an A1C value of 6, and the lab normal range shows up to 6.2. I understand that normal values are usually less than 5.7, but in this case, can 6 be considered normal since the lab range shows up to 6.2? I understand fasting is high, but please restrict your answer to differences in lab normal ranges.

I was diagnosed with diabetes 4 months ago, and my doctor advised me that I would not need medication if I improved my lifestyle. At that time, my HbA1c was 6.5. Since then, I have focused on my diet and walked regularly for 1 hour daily. After 3 months, my HbA1c dropped to 6.01. Today, I checked my blood sugar using a testing kit, my fasting reading was 100 mg/dL, and 1.5 hours after eating, it was 102 mg/dL. Does this post meal result mean low sugar? Is this something to worry about, or does it mean my diabetes is under control or even reversed? Please clarify what this indicates.
