Mam or sir, is it true that beta hcg test has no connection with when you had sex? Will the test give an accurate result only after a missed period?
Answered by 1 Apollo Doctors
Beta HCG level depends on when implantation happens, not just when sex happened. It becomes detectable 6 to 14 days after ovulation/fertilization, not immediately after sex. Thats why we say: test 21 days after sex or 2 to 3 days after missed period. So yes test timing matters more than sex date. Get a UPT and a Beta HCG test done for reassurance.

View allI had protected sex with my partner on 12th June and got my periods on 21st June, which was very light compared to usual and lasted for three days. I took a pregnancy test after a week, which was negative. I took another test after four days, which was also negative. Now in July my period was due on 21st July but I am nine days late. Is there any chance of pregnancy?

My girlfriend took a pregnancy test and got negative three times after missing her period for 2 weeks. She took Meprate for 3 days and got her period after 2 days with heavy flow for 5 days. Can she still be pregnant? Does Meprate cause periods even if you are pregnant? Please help.

Hi Doctor, I am writing on behalf of my wife. We are trying to conceive. Her last period started on 13th August, and her next period is due on 13th Sept. We went ahead and did an hCG blood test, and the result came back as 92. We also tried a urine pregnancy test, which showed a faint positive line. Does this mean she is pregnant? Can pregnancy be confirmed even before the missed period? We are a bit confused and not sure if we should celebrate yet. Please guide us.
