My baby is 10 months old. Ascaris lumbricoides was seen in her stool test report. Please tell me what this is and what the treatment for this worm is? My doctor has suggested that, since she is only 10 months old, we cannot give any medicine until she turns 1 year. Please advise.

Ascaris is a type of intestinal worm. While some doctors wait till age 1, if symptoms are severe, pediatricians may consider treatment. Keep hygiene strict. Consult a pediatrician again. Syrup Bandy will be given if the symptoms are severe

I eat apple, banana, and oats daily in the morning for fiber. I do not eat junk food, totally stopped for a year. Is this IBS? Also, if I drink milk or eat spicy food, I have observed smelly gas after that. Please guide. LFT, CBC, urine, and thyroid are all normal.

I would like to know whether Metronidazole is more effective than Ornidazole, or if Ornidazole alone is sufficient for treating this infection.
