My blood test report shows a severe deficiency of Vitamin D3. Could you please advise which specialist I should consult for proper evaluation and treatment?

For severe D3 deficiency, see a general physician or endocrinologist. They will initiate high dose vitamin D weekly and maintenance therapy later.

Dr. Bhanu Suggests...

Take a CALCIUM - SERUM Test or Take a PARATHYROID HORMONE (INTACT PTH) Test

For a few days, my mom has been suffering from leg pain. Earlier, it was in one leg, but now it happens in both legs. One day, she was sitting in one position for a long time, and when she moved, it caused a lot of pain. Now, if she sits anywhere for a long time and then gets up, she faces the same problem. She was earlier diagnosed with vitamin D deficiency and took medication for a few months but stopped as she continued to feel well. She is slightly overweight. She also had menstrual related issues in the past, such as overbleeding and abdominal pain. I do not know the exact reason behind her leg pain, but she complains that she is unable to walk when it happens. Please help and suggest treatment options. She lives alone and is working, as my father has passed away. I am also working but staying far from her. This issue arose recently. If you need any further information, please reach out to me. What could be the reason for her leg pain?
