My daughter has a stomachache. The test reports show mild hepatomegaly and a few reactive mesenteric lymph nodes on the USG report. Her complete blood report shows neutrophils 34 percent (normal 45 to 70 percent) and lymphocytes 64 percent (normal 25 to 45 percent).

This suggests possible viral or post infectious response. Please take a Liver Function Test (LFT) and EBV/CMV IgM antibodies to check for infections. Take the tests to assess liver involvement and confirm viral etiology.

Dr. Yusuf Suggests...

Take a LFT (Liver Function) Test Test or Take a EPSTEIN BARR VIRUS (EBV) NUCLEAR ANTIGEN ANTIBODY IGM Test

I had cold, cough, and fever two weeks ago. I consulted a doctor who prescribed antibiotics (Amoxicillin 625 mg), Paracetamol 500 mg, and Ascoril cough syrup. After a week, the cold and cough continued with a runny nose, so he gave me some cold tablets for two days, which helped temporarily. Now, I am again experiencing severe cold, cough, chills, and a temperature of 97 to 99F since yesterday. Today, I consulted the doctor again, and he recommended some blood and urine tests. I have attached the reports. He is asking me to take IV therapy daily for four days along with more antibiotics. I shared my medical history, and he suggested getting a second opinion from you regarding this treatment. Should I continue treatment with him, or should I go to a bigger hospital? Please advise. Blood Report: WBC: 12,950 /cumm Neutrophils: 77 percent Eosinophils: 7 percent ESR: 36 mm/hr AEC: 905 /cumm Urine Report: Appearance: Cloudy Albumin: ++ Pus cells: 26 to 28/hpf Epithelial cells: Present in clumps
