Question
my doctor said I have an old healed fissure and surgery isn't needed but I'm not sure what that really means does it still cause problems or is it completely fine now

It's understandable to be unsure when a doctor advises against surgery. While surgery is often a last resort for chronic anal fissures, most cases can be managed with conservative treatments like lifestyle changes and medications.
