My father is 69 years old and is recovering from a post pneumonia lung infection. He has high blood pressure and diabetes, for which he takes daily medication. We did a blood test, and the report shows, platelets is 5.20 lacs, haemoglobin is 10.8, Serum SGOT is 99.33, Serum SGPT is 57.40, and D Dimer Quantification is 2544.47. What other tests should be done? Is this condition dangerous as the D Dimer is very high along with elevated platelets, SGOT, and SGPT? Last month, his platelets were 2.72 lacs.

Elevated D dimer may indicate ongoing clot risk. Liver enzymes are likely from infection or medications. Needs urgent follow up due to high D dimer.

Take a CBC Test (Complete Blood Count) Test or Take a D Dimer Test Test

View allMy son had a severe allergic reaction due to a medicine he took for sudden pain in his leg joints. The reaction appears as red dots all over his legs, which are also painful at times. It looks similar to severe mosquito bites, and there are no purple dots. The doctor indicated a possibility of vasculitis, but the blood report stated otherwise. His rheumatoid factor is 8.5.
