After one day of treatment in the hospital, the fever subsided, but the doctor advised to continue treatment for 5 to 6 days before discharge. Now, he has swelling in his hands and legs, and he is also having bathroom related issues. What could be the reason for this swelling, and is it serious?

Pneumonia in the elderly can cause high WBC and complications like limb swelling (possible fluid retention or drug reaction). Continue antibiotics. Monitor vitals and renal function, Chest X ray needs to be done.
