My occult blood report is not detected, but there is blood in my stool in physical examination. Is it a cause of concern?
Answered by 1 Apollo Doctors
If visible blood is seen despite a negative occult test, further evaluation like sigmoidoscopy or colonoscopy is advised to find the source of piles, fissures, polyps.

My baby has been prescribed Enterogermina vials for 5 days because her stool report shows WBC 15 to 20/hpf, presence of mucus (+++), and reducing substances, even though she does not have diarrhea. She currently has no other symptoms but is feeding less than before, previously she drank about 90 mL of formula per feed, and now she only takes around 30 mL. Her weight has not increased in the last 3 weeks. Her birth weight was 2.188 kg, and she currently weighs 4.6 kg. How can I help her increase her weight and improve her milk intake?

Despite taking gastric medication, the pain continues. Please advise on what could be causing this ongoing discomfort and what further steps or tests should be considered.
