My reading for a non fasting glucose test is 145. The normal range is 70 to 140. Is this okay, or do I need to change my lifestyle and diet for a healthy, diabetes free life?

A non fasting glucose of 145 is slightly elevated. It does not confirm diabetes but could signal risk. Do a fasting blood sugar and HbA1c to know your average sugar control. Focus on diet, exercise, and avoid sugar rich foods.
Dr. Ezhilarasan Suggests...
Take a FBS (Fasting Blood Sugar )Test Test or Take a HbA1c Test (Hemoglobin A1c) Test

Respected doctors, my dad took a blood sugar test on 25th July in the afternoon after having lunch. It showed his blood sugar level as 289. To confirm, we took the blood test the next day, 26th July, which showed a completely different sugar level of 125 fasting and 153 after breakfast. After seeing both reports, the diabetologist advised my dad to exercise and walk more. Which sugar level is accurate? The first one taken after lunch or the second report taken in the morning, fasting and after food? Currently, he has not been prescribed any medicines and is taking the morning reading as the accurate one.
