My son Widal blood test indicates that Salmonella Typhi (H) value is 1:40 dilution and is declared positive by the lab. I have learned that if it is more than 1:60, it means he is infected. Is this correct? He does not have any other problems except high fever of 103 and headache, but the fever repeats at four hour intervals.

A Typhi H titer of 1:40 is not conclusive for typhoid, greater than or equal to 1:160 is more suggestive of active infection in endemic areas. False positives are common with Widal due to past exposure or vaccination. Repeating the Widal test after 5 to7 days to see rising titers is recommended. Fever every 4 hours may suggest viral, malaria, or early enteric fever. Consult a doctor if the fever persists for more than 3 days.

View allMy mother blood report shows S. Typhi antigen O 1:160 and S. Typhi antigen H 1:160. The doctor has prescribed Opox CV 200 for 15 days. She has become very weak. Should we admit her to the hospital or wait for the Opox CV to work? Should the medicine be changed?

Kindly explain the results of my Typhidot IgG and IgM tests by ELISA. The values are Typhidot IgG is 0.19 and Typhidot IgM is 0.31. Do these values indicate typhoid fever or not?
