My wife, age 32, has UTI with no fever, so we took a routine test. There is slight elevation in conjugated bilirubin. She has no disease of any kind. Why is there an elevation?

A slight increase in conjugated bilirubin without other symptoms can happen temporarily. Dehydration during a UTI or fasting before the test can affect bilirubin levels. If liver function tests are otherwise normal and there is no jaundice, it is usually not serious. Ensure proper hydration and complete the treatment for UTI. You can book a Liver Function Test (LFT) after 2 weeks to recheck bilirubin levels for reassurance.

Liver bilirubin direct is 0.50, ALT SGPT is 63, hemoglobin is 17.50, PCV is 51.40, RBC is 5.76, lymphocytes in DLC are 41.70, monocytes in ALC are 0.18, glucose fasting plasma is 107, LDL is 106, and HbA1c glycosylated hemoglobin blood is 6.8. Kindly tell me if I am a healthy person or not. What is the problem?

I am a diabetic female for the last 20 years. Recently I did a liver function test and my report shows bilirubin total 0.62, AST 62, ALT 40 and GGTP 100. Is this alarming? How can I reduce these levels? The rest of the report is normal.

I recently did a liver function test, and my results are: Total Bilirubin: 1.38 mg/dL Direct Bilirubin: 0.37 mg/dL Indirect Bilirubin: 1.01 mg/dL AST (SGOT): 42 U/L ALT (SGPT): 78 U/L Alkaline Phosphatase (ALP): 169 U/L Are these results serious, or can they improve with medication?
