My wife died because of tuberculosis and because of that one of the doctors started treatment for TB with INH saying that there is a possibility my baby might have got some germs of tuberculosis. However, according to the results of the Montoux test, CBC report, chest X ray, and TB gold test, my baby is absolutely fine. Should I take her to another doctor for a checkup or start the tuberculosis treatment, which I am aware she is not suffering from? Please help me as I know once the treatment for tuberculosis is started, the full treatment must be completed even if the problem is not there.

If all TB tests (Mantoux, CBC, CXR, TB Gold) are negative, there is no active infection. INH prophylaxis is only needed if exposure is recent or baby is immunocompromised. Discuss with pediatric TB specialist.

I am a 23 year old girl suffering from XDR lymphatic tuberculosis and I have been on medication for the last 13 months. The medicines are moxifloxacin, clofazimine, delamanid, bedaquiline and cycloserine. I took capreomycin injection for 8 months. My reports are negative now but I am suffering from body ache, weakness in legs and hands, and breathlessness. My period is due in the next 3 to 4 days. Why is this happening and what should I do?
