My wife was diagnosed with multinodular goiter 1 year ago. Her thyroid report is normal. FNAC was also done. Some doctors are suggesting surgery while others suggest wait and watch. My concern is, after the operation, will my wife have to take thyroid medicine for her whole life? FNAC report and USG report are attached.

Multinodular goiter with normal thyroid reports and FNAC often needs only monitoring. Surgery is advised if there is difficulty in swallowing, rapid growth, or cosmetic concerns. If the entire thyroid is removed, lifelong thyroid medication will be needed. If only part of the thyroid is removed, medication may not be required. You can book a Thyroid Profile test to check current thyroid function before deciding on surgery.

View allMy wife weight is 70 kgs and height is 5 feet 1 inch. Her T3 and T4 are normal but her TSH is on the higher side. Pictures of the report are attached. Can you please let me know what needs to be done along with a description of its complications? The test report was done from Thyrocare lab. Is it okay or should I get the test done from another lab? I am awaiting an urgent response from an endocrinologist. Thanks a lot in advance.

I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism in the early stage (borderline), and my doctor prescribed Thyronorm 25 mg. I took the medicine only for one month and then stopped. Now I am planning for my second pregnancy. Will hyperthyroidism affect my pregnancy? Is it necessary to continue thyroid medication, or can I manage without it?

I have been suffering from tiredness for the last 20 days. My blood report shows T3 3.17 nmol per L, TSH 11.01 uIU per L, and T4 is normal. My weight is increasing and I feel sleepy all day. The doctor has prescribed Thyrox 25 McLeods and Amitriptyline HCl 10 mg. Is it okay to take this medicine or should I consult another specialist. Please suggest what food to eat to recover and how much time it will take to recover completely?
