Yes, check with your doctor before starting it
When you eat or drink foods that have carbohydrate also known as carbs your body breaks those carbs down into glucose (a type of sugar), which then raises the level of glucose in your blood.
Insulin helps blood sugar enter the body's cells so it can be used for energy. Insulin also signals the liver to store blood sugar for later use.
Insulin is grouped according to how long it works in the body. Rapid or short acting insulin helps reduce blood glucose levels at meal times and intermediate or long-acting insulin helps with managing the body's general needs. Both help manage blood glucose levels.
Insert a test strip in a meter. Prick your finger tip with a needle or lancet and accurately measure your blood sugar levels at home.
