What is a PBS test for blood?
A peripheral blood smear (PBS) test is a technique healthcare providers use to examine your red and white blood cells and your platelets under a microscope.

A CRP level of less than 10 mg/L is considered normal. CRP levels between 10 and 100 mg/L indicate mild to moderate inflammation, while levels above 100 mg/L indicate severe inflammation.
A positive test result may mean that you have syphilis. If the screening test is positive, the next step is to confirm the diagnosis with a more specific test for syphilis, such as FTA-ABS.
