What is the significance of an MCV in a blood test report?
MCV stands for mean corpuscular volume. An MCV blood test measures the average size of your red blood cells.

One can lower red blood cell count by taking less of iron rich diet. If iron levels get slightly lower, this can often be corrected by making appropriate dietary changes or taking supplements.
One cannot test for anemia at home. One has to give the sample to the lab.
