Why are both my TSH and T4 levels high? I understand that a high TSH usually means hypothyroidism, so why is my T4 also high? Is this a serious problem? I am really worried. Please check my report and help me understand.

TSH and T4 being high at the same time is not typical and may sometimes result from a lab variation, timing of the test, or an underlying condition like thyroid hormone resistance, which is rare. The best next step is to repeat the thyroid profile at the same lab, preferably in a fasting state in the morning. This will help confirm the result and guide further evaluation if needed.

View allMy wife is pregnant with a duration of one month and twenty four days. We consulted a gynecologist and did some blood and urine tests. In the test report my wife TSH shows 10.6 which is beyond the normal range of 2 to 4.68. We called the doctor and they said to please consult with the nearest physician for TSH treatment to start, but due to lockdown the nearest physician is not available. Please suggest any medicine for TSH control? I have attached the test report. Is there any further abnormality? Please do the needful. Thank you.

My TSH level is 0.11, which is very low according to my report. I had alcohol the night before the blood test. Can alcohol intake affect TSH levels? Please advise.

I wanted to ask if it is possible to have hypothyroidism even when thyroid levels appear normal. My recent test results show T3 at 130, T4 at 9.71, and TSH at 1.23, all within the normal range. However, I am experiencing several symptoms such as brain fog, anxiety, slowed thinking, extreme laziness, and memory issues. Could these symptoms still be related to a thyroid issue despite the normal lab values?
