ESR increases during menstruation because there is a significant decrease in the hematocrit levels which results in faster fall of red blood cells which in turn leads to increase in ESR levels.

I experience cough and phlegm whenever I am exposed to cold air. Even slight cold makes my body feel cool and triggers coughing and phlegm. My blood tests are all normal except for ESR, which is 52. There is pain in my body, joint pain, and severe weakness. The weakness is more after sleeping. My ESR is raised, but all other tests are normal. My urine report is abnormal. All other tests like RA, anti CCP, vitamin D, vitamin B12, sugar, and thyroid are normal except ESR and urine.
