How is the blood sample taken?
A tourniquet (elastic) band is placed tightly on the upper arm to take the blood sample. The patient is then asked to make a fist. This helps in the build-up of blood filling the veins, making it easy to collect the blood. The skin is cleaned before inserting the needle in the vein to prevent bacteria from entering. Needle is inserted into the vein of the arm and the blood sample is collected in the vacutainer.
When I can experience allergy symptoms after exposure?
One can experience allergy symptoms within 30 minutes of exposure but may not occur until a few hours later. It has been reported that symptoms can increase in severity for 8-12 hours after exposure. These may cause one or more of the below symptoms ? Coughing; Wheezing; Nasal congestion; Itchy, runny nose, sneezing; Itchy, watery, swollen eyes; In severe cases, rash on the face, neck, and upper chest may occur; Shortness of breath; Dark circles under eyes

What are the risks associated with Allergy Animal Panel?
There is minimal risk involved in having a blood test. You may have a bruise or slight pain at the site where the blood was drawn from, but most symptoms subside quickly.
