This test determines the level of Immunoglobulin G antibodies in the blood. The immune system produces antibodies to protect from bacteria, viruses and allergens. Sometimes, our body may mistakenly treat healthy organs and tissues like foreign invaders and make antibodies against them. This is called an autoimmune disease.

faqFrequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How is the blood sample taken?

A tourniquet (elastic) band is placed tightly on the upper arm to take the blood sample. You need to make a fist. Then the needle inserted into the vein in the arm, and the blood sample is collected in the vacutainer.

It may take a few days for the results to be ready. Your doctor may order other tests to figure out the problem if the test results show signs of a problem.
