Your doctor may ask you to temporarily stop any ongoing medicines that may affect the test result. You are advised to inform the doctor about all the ongoing medicines, including corticosteroids, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), Prostaglandins (used to treat glaucoma or stomach ulcers), water pills (diuretics). Please do not stop taking any medication without speaking with your doctor. Sodium in the diet may affect the test results. Your doctor may order a 24-hour urine test to lessen the impact of any single meal on the urine test results.
