Soframycin Use
- Soframycin (Framycetin 1% w/w) is an antibiotic ointment for bacterial skin infections.
- Not recommended for simple pimples unless there's a bacterial infection or severe inflammation.
-
Considerations for a 15-Year-Old
- Pimples in teenagers are often due to acne, not primarily bacterial.
- Using Soframycin without medical advice is not ideal.
-
Side Effects and Risks
- Possible side effects: skin irritation, redness, allergic reactions (uncommon).
- Overuse can lead to antibiotic resistance and worsen skin conditions.
-
Recommendations
- Consult a dermatologist for suitable acne treatments.
- Practice gentle skin cleansing and avoid picking at pimples.
- Seek medical advice if symptoms worsen or signs of infection appear.
