My tonsil holes are pretty large and keep trapping white stones. An ENT specialist suggested a tonsillectomy, but I'm really hoping to avoid surgery. Are there any other treatments or ways to manage this without going under the knife?

I woke up this morning with a really sore and swollen uvula, and it's quite painful. I've had a cough for the past few days and have been using Zeet cough syrup and drinking warm water with honey, which helped a bit, but the irritation is still there in my throat.
