Can I split a Combiflam 400mg tablet in half for my sciatica pain? I'm not sure if it's safe or effective to take just half the dose. Would that still help with the pain?

Safety of Splitting Tablets:
- Combiflam tablets are not designed to be split, which can lead to uneven dosing.
-
Effectiveness of Half Dose:
- Half a tablet provides approximately 200 mg of ibuprofen and 162.5 mg of paracetamol. This may offer some relief but is less effective than the full dose.
-
Pain Management:
- For mild sciatica pain, a lower dose might help, but moderate to severe pain often requires the full dose.
-
Consultation:
- Consult a healthcare provider before altering the dose, especially if you have other health conditions or are on other medications.
-
Alternative Options:
- Your doctor might suggest other formulations or dosing schedules for lower doses.
In summary, while splitting a Combiflam tablet might provide some relief, it may not be as effective, and uneven dosing is a risk. Always consult your doctor or pharmacist for personalized advice.

View allMy dad had a stroke and the doctors found an infarction in his brain. Now they're recommending surgery is this really necessary or are there other options we should consider first?
It's understandable to be concerned about your dad's health and the recommended surgery. Not all stroke treatments require surgery, and other options should be considered first. Surgery is usually reserved for specific situations, especially those related to bleeding or severe blockages in the brain.

I'm really worried about my husband. He's 33 and has been experiencing chest pain for the past three months, as well as dizziness, like he's about to fall down. He also has upper back pain. We've done full cardiac tests, checked sugar levels, blood pressure, urine tests, and even had an endoscopy, but everything came back normal. Despite that, he's still not feeling well. Every morning he wakes up dizzy and feels sleepy all the time. We've already seen cardiac and gastro specialists, but we still can't figure out what's wrong. Could you please advise which kind of doctor we should see next?

Can you review my MRI results and let me know if my disc issue can heal without surgery or if physiotherapy would work better for it
MRI review needed to guide decision, but physiotherapy is often first-line for disc issues before considering surgery.
