Can I take glucose to help increase my amniotic fluid index? My AFI is currently at 10 cm, and I'm 36 weeks pregnant. What should I do to improve it?

One way to potentially increase your amniotic fluid levels is by staying hydrated and drinking plenty of fluids. Additionally, you can talk to your healthcare provider about taking medications such as Amnioinfusion, which is a procedure where saline solution is infused into the amniotic sac to increase fluid levels. It is important to consult with your healthcare provider for proper evaluation and management.

    • Glucose intake is not a standard method to increase AFI.
  3. Monitoring and Management at 36 Weeks

    • Continue regular prenatal check-ups to monitor AFI and fetal health.
  4. General Recommendations to Support Amniotic Fluid Levels

    • Stay well-hydrated.
    • Maintain balanced nutrition and adequate rest.
  5. When to Consult Your Healthcare Provider

    • Seek immediate medical attention if you notice decreased fetal movement or other concerning symptoms.
  6. Relevant Medical Specialties and Tests

    • Consult with an obstetrician for ongoing care.
    • Ultrasound monitoring can help assess AFI.

I'm really worried and I hope you can help me. I just found out I'm pregnant, about 6 weeks along, but I started having brown spotting, which really freaked me out. So I went to see my doctor, and they did a TVS. They found a single intrauterine gestational sac, but no yolk sac or heartbeat yet, and the sac looked irregular in the report. My doctor said the fetus seems weak right now and wants me to come back for another scan in two weeks. They've put me on a weekly Susten 200 injection. Not seeing the yolk sac or heartbeat at this stage, does it mean it could be a nonviable pregnancy? Is there a chance the yolk sac might appear by the time I go for the next scan? I'm trying to prepare myself mentally just in case things dont turn out well, but I really dont know what to expect. What are the chances things could improve in these two weeks?
