Answered by 1 Apollo Doctors

Greasy hair itself does not directly cause hair loss, but it can be associated with conditions that might contribute to hair shedding. Here's what you should know:
-
Sebum and Scalp Health: Greasy hair results from excess sebum production by scalp glands. While sebum protects hair, too much can clog hair follicles.
-
Scalp Conditions: Excess oil can lead to scalp issues like dandruff or seborrheic dermatitis, which may cause inflammation and potentially contribute to hair shedding.
-
Hair Care Practices: Sometimes, greasy hair leads to frequent washing or harsh treatments that might weaken hair and cause breakage.
-
Underlying Causes: Hormonal changes, stress, or medical conditions can cause both oily scalp and hair loss.
If you notice significant hair thinning or shedding, it's best to consult a dermatologist or trichologist. They can evaluate your scalp health, identify any underlying issues, and recommend appropriate treatments or lifestyle changes to manage both oily hair and hair loss effectively.

View allI've been dealing with this rash near my groin area for a while now. At first, I thought it was just a shaving rash, but it's spreading. They begin as small circles and then grow into larger clusters. The rash is flat, not itchy, and has a reddish-brown color. Should I be worried about this? What could it possibly be?
It sounds like you may be experiencing a fungal infection, such as ringworm. I recommend using an antifungal cream like Lotrimin Ultra (clotrimazole) twice a day on the affected area for 2-4 weeks. Make sure to keep the area clean and dry, and wear loose-fitting clothing to help the healing process. If the rash does not improve or worsens, please follow up with a healthcare provider for further evaluation.

Good morning, I've been struggling with this ringworm thing for about 7 months now. I've tried all sorts of meds, but it keeps coming back. I even tried a turmeric and honey paste, and it seemed to work. No more itching or pain with that. Now, my doctor has put me on itraconazole 200 for a month in the mornings and some multi-vitamins and mineral capsules in the afternoons. I'm wondering if these are the best choices for me? Also, any tips on the best foods to eat or avoid during this time? Like, is it okay to have non-veg, milk, and curd?
That requires topical and oral antifungal medications, visit Dermatologist for appropriate management and also maintain personal Hygiene
