No, usually it is not detected in blood test. However, urine & saliva samples are more preferred.

Hi, I recently received my ANC profile which shows low MCHC but elevated RDW CV and RDW SD values, while my hemoglobin is 12.7. I maintain a very healthy lifestyle with regular strength training and cardio, and I avoid fried and junk food. I am worried about the cause, some articles suggest deficiencies in folate, iron, or vitamin B12, but I have been taking folvite for the last 10 days. Since folic acid is crucial for the baby CNS development, I am quite anxious and want to know how to correct these values. Given my age and my father history of bypass surgery, my doctor has also prescribed daily heparin injections, which I have been taking for the last 4 days. I have been having mild, constant pain in my arms and legs and tingling in my face and tongue for the past six months. The problem is more pronounced after exercise or even brisk walking. I have developed sensitivity to sound and an odd metallic taste in my mouth. My blood reports, including vitamin B12 and D3, are normal. Only my total cholesterol and LDL are low at 43. Fatigue is constant, and sometimes joint pain also occurs.
