I am 25 years old and have been experiencing weakness, fatigue, shortness of breath, excessive sleep, and occasional hand shivering. I consulted a doctor who advised various tests, including an X ray, all of which came back normal. The doctor said I am okay and recommended focusing on diet and exercise, which I am already doing. Another doctor suggested testing my Vitamin B12, Vitamin D3, and calcium levels. Although my mother received injections and has normal reports, my tests show a Vitamin B12 level of 182 (normal range 239 to 931) and Vitamin D (25hydroxy) level of 18.8 (normal range 20 to 100). Are these results normal? Please advise on what steps I should take.

Your B12 and Vitamin D levels are below normal. This could explain your fatigue and other symptoms. Continue supplements regularly and recheck levels in 8 to 12 weeks. Maintain a balanced diet rich in B12 (dairy, eggs) and get sunlight exposure for vitamin D.

Dr. Yusuf Suggests...

Take a VITAMIN B12 Test or Take a 25-HYDROXY VITAMIN D (D2+D3) Test

Hi doctor I am a student of class 12 preparing for IIT. For the past few months I have been facing a problem of forgetting things very easily. I can remember things for short term but it is very difficult for me to remember things for long term. I am facing a lot of problems because of this. I have been searching for a solution but have not found anything that really helps. Three months ago I consulted a psychiatrist but the medicine was not suitable for me as it caused shivering in my limbs. I have tried many exercises but nothing helps in the long run. I also try different methods of remembering things like visualization or linking information with events but it is very difficult to do every time. Please help me doctor. I shall be really grateful if I could get out of this situation. I am sharing my report of consultation with the psychiatrist please have a look at it?

Hi, I recently received my ANC profile which shows low MCHC but elevated RDW CV and RDW SD values, while my hemoglobin is 12.7. I maintain a very healthy lifestyle with regular strength training and cardio, and I avoid fried and junk food. I am worried about the cause, some articles suggest deficiencies in folate, iron, or vitamin B12, but I have been taking folvite for the last 10 days. Since folic acid is crucial for the baby CNS development, I am quite anxious and want to know how to correct these values. Given my age and my father history of bypass surgery, my doctor has also prescribed daily heparin injections, which I have been taking for the last 4 days. Please advise on what I can do to bring these values back to normal. I have attached my report
